FOUNDATION CALIFORNIA NATIVE PLANTS

When it comes to planting design it can sometimes get overwhelming with massive amounts of plant choices. Luckily there are places like Tree of Life Nursery that like to make it a little easier by giving you tips, suggestions and nice lectures geared to help you find the right plant for your garden. In this video Mike Evans talks about foundation plants for the landscape.

Below is a list of plants (some mentioned in this video) that would be great as foundation plants...
  • Quercus agrifolia
  • Platanus racemosa
  • Prunus lyonii
  • Cercis occidentalis
  • Arctostaphylos ‘Lester Rowntree’ or refugioensis or ‘Byrd Hill’ (tall)
  • Ceanothus ‘Ray Hartman’ or ‘Snow Flurry’ (tall)
