TOP 3 CALIFORNIA NATIVE PLANTS FOR SHADE

Sometimes in gardening we come across situations where the areas to be planted are in mostly shade. This does not mean that you are limited in what you can plant, but it does mean that you have to be strategic with your plant choices.   These 3 plants are great for areas that just won't get sun.  They are also native to California, need little water and don't require much maintenance.

These plants are:

  • Heuchera opal - Coral Bells
  • Iris 'Canyon Snow' - Iris
  • Salvia spathacea - Hummingbird Sage

This continues a series of 10 videos about California native plants.  Each video will feature a situation that is commonly dealt with in residential landscapes.
