This client had met with me a few years ago to get some ideas on her back yard that she ended up renovating with her father. She quickly realized how much work is involved and decided not to DIY the front. Instead she had me do a design and hired a contractor to do the install. She had also signed up for the Municipal Water District of OC turf rebate program.
She had only one requirement being that she wanted to only use California native plants. That combined with a dry river bed and two rain barrels created a sustainable garden that is guaranteed to reduce her water bills and add to her property value. We also created a funky gravel driveway and used big chunks of the old concrete driveway to create a path from the street to the front door.
